Car Brake Pads

Disc brakes deliver outstanding stopping power for modern vehicles. They work by pressure when you press the brake pedal, fluid is sent from the master cylinder through the brake lines to the caliper. The caliper holds an inner and outer pad (situated on the front and back of the brake disc). As the caliper squeezes, it creates drag, slowing your vehicle. However, it also creates friction and wears away the surface of your brake pads. It also creates wear on brake discs, as well. Pads wear into the surface of the disc, and heat can warp discs/rotors, particularly if heated and then exposed to water. Drivers will need to replace brake pads periodically, with the frequency determined by driving/braking habits and other conditions.
