Car Drive Couplings, Universal Joints

In a rear-wheel drive vehicle (as well as four-wheel drive and all-wheel drive vehicles), motive power must be directed to the drive wheels in the back from the transmission at the front. This is accomplished by a drive shaft, which mates to the back of the transmission and the front of the rear differential (respectively). However, drive shafts are solid pieces of metal, rigid and inflexible. Flexibility and driveline angling are accomplished by using a universal joint, a drive coupling or a viscous coupling. There are numerous types of drive coupling in use today, although the spider coupling is one of the most common. U-joints are also very common. When these couplings and joints begin to wear, generally through a lack of lubrication or length of service, replacement is a necessity. Quickco sources drive coupling, U-joint, viscous coupling and drive coupling replacements from OEM and High quality Aftermarket suppliers, ensuring the exact fit and functionality that you need, whether you’re repairing your own vehicle or servicing a customer’s.
